recently listened to a news story describing this generation as the most narcisstic. Media left my generation unlabeled as Generation X. My parents were part of the Baby Boomers, and it seems that every generation, inevitably, receives a fitting/unfitting title. Will my generation be the Narcissistics? Guess whose blame it is because the fault, of course, would never lie in ourselves? A USATODAY claims social media as the dirty culprit for rebranding Generation X to Generation Narcissism.
Ironically, I post an article to contemplate my own narcissistic tendencies on a blog. Am I narcissistic? It is a growing trend that researchers have found from every succeeding generation. This is definitely a character trait I will try to work hard to suppress. I used to bite my nails until I realized how disgusting other people looked when chomping down on their fingernails. Although I sometimes, under stressful situations, will revert back to my old ways, but by and large, I’ve been released by this bad habit. To connect the dots, I have never liked selfish and narcissistic people; therefore, I do not wish to be that way.
I have a little feeling that I just dedicated a post on narcissism that centered around me . . . oops!
Third time’s a charm . . . right? My first blog, started several years back and acted like a beginner’s guide to the blogosphere for me. My second blog was a testimony to my travel around the world so the loved ones at home could share my adventures with me. This time around the mountain, I am not sure what to expect.
Unfortunately, that means the posts for this blog are subjected to my every whim and mundane life. So fasten your thinking caps as I pose life questions to you, bring you random bits of factual information that will never be useful unless you’re an avid Trivia Pursuit player, and pictures from a self-taught photographer, me!
On a more narcissistic note, employers can find links to my resume and video tape on the sidebar of this blog. Remember when you just finished college and the ink was still wet on your diploma? Remember the long wait of unemployment and the fears of your future looming over you as you received rejections or no response at all? Remember that moment when you someone finally gave you a chance to help you become the person you are today? Don’t you want to give that same feeling of success to me? I may have a lack experience, but I make up for it with passion and an eagerness to learn.
