I was shocked to realize that Christmas is near as shopping centers pull out the green and red decorations. I went to Walmart on November 2 thinking I could raid the awesome leftover Halloween candy aisle, however, I was disappointed to find that Walmart had already switched the seasons for Christmas candy. Every year it seems Christmas arrives earlier in the materialistic Western society. Am I the only one that feels this way? I won’t lie; I love Christmas. It’s my favorite holiday. I start jingling to “Deck the Halls” in the middle of the year just because I love Christmas music and I leave it on my IPod all year round.
There have been many things that have made me realize that Christmas is near. Mostly, I’ve been wondering what has happened to my time this year? I graduated from college, traveled around the world, and now am trying to find my first “real job”. Time has flown by me this year. So much has changed in my life from professional aspirations (I was considering graduate school for a J.D., which has been postponed.) to my personal life ( I’ve changed so much from traveling and getting out of my first relationship.). It’s been a roller coaster year, but the fun hasn’t ended yet. I have two more months left. Who knows where I’ll be next.
I’m just trying to remember to enjoy the journey.
During one night of fun, I was sitting at a bar, and I happened to look up. Instead of a vintage Tiffany’s overhead light above our booth, it was this:
Do you recognize this lamp? It’s from a classical Christmas movie that my family watches every year. Leave a comment with your guess. I promise not to think less of you if you can not remember this iconic lamp.
