a new year, a new city, a new job, and a new outlook on life . . . right? Surprisingly, very little changes between one day and the next, rather it is December 31st and January 1st or a day in the middle of May. I have bigger and better aspirations for 2011, but will they come true? What are some of your “New Year Resolutions”? How did you celebrate the coming of 2011? New York drops a ball, Georgia drops a peach, and Nashville drops a guitar, what did your city drop to commemorate the night?
News stations were predicting about 100,000 people to come see the peach drop in Atlanta, GA. Having been in the swarm of festivities, It certainly seemed like all of Atlanta had come out to the Undergound.
I love watching fireworks! Immediately after the peach had dropped, the fireworks were shot off, lighting the night sky with rainbow shooting stars.
What could make this night even better? I shared a funnel cake with an old friend before riding a ferris wheel and watching the massive exodus after midnight. If you know anything about me, you know my propensity for sweets and sentimental childhood rides. I’ve never been a roller coaster fan, but I love riding the ferris wheel. It’s always been and always will be my favorite carnival ride. This has been my best New Year’s Eve celebration . . . so far!
Happy New Year to all! May 2011 bring everyone peace, prosperity and joy.
