upon a time . . . a young student sat idle by her laptop in a wooden cubicle, tucked in the corner of Hodges fifth floor. She probably had a test tomorrow, but instead of dutifully studying the night away, she is on Facebook and accomplishing nothing. Some might argue that she is improving her social skills and networking technique, a very important college lesson, but a more honest person would say she is procrastinating.
That young, impressionable young lady is now avoiding her new year’s resolution of learning Chinese by online shopping. Who hasn’t spent hours browsing the endless maze of online ware? You suddenly look up at the clock and wonder where the time has gone. Did I really waste three hours of my life to web browsing and online shopping? It makes me wonder if I’ll ever become a productive adult and an asset to society.
If I had a dollar for every hour of my life wasted, how rich would I be?
