gas prices go up, I stay at home more.  During the last gas increase, a new term was coined – stay-cation.  Tourism industry took a hit as families decided to stay at home for vacation instead of taking roadtrips to Disney World.

In my own effort to conserve gas and funds, I stayed at home and sewed.  I hemmed pants, made a dress, and even fixed a sleeve.  Although it wasn’t nearly as entertaining as a movie, it’s byproducts outlasted any enjoyment a movie could offer.

I figured since I’ve waited this long to watch “Black Swan”, I can wait until it makes it to my TV set at home for another weekend stay-cation.

  1. I have a sewing machine but I so hate sewing. I try and try to like it. I have many projects that need to be done in order to conserve money and many that look like they would be fun but I just put it off. Sometimes I will just hand stitch something which is insanely crazy.
