Pizza Weekday Dinner

have made my own pizza dough before, but it requires time and lots of kneading.  While at the store, I was craving pizza so I bought pre-made pizza dough.  This is an ingenious idea!  I topped one pizza with home-made pesto, tomatoes, Italian sausage and cheese. The second pizza I spread spinach & cheese pasta sauce as my base, topping it with mushrooms, yellow cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, Italian sausage and fresh cilantro. Prep time took 30 minutes to chop everything and the pizzas baked for 12 minutes.  Pizza has suddenly become my gourmet weekday dinner of choice!

  1. This was the best pizza I’ve ever eaten, and I eat lots of pizza. The crust was bathed in a sausage wine sauce that infused it, cradled it like a basket of flavors bearing Moses safely down the Nile, and saw it safely through the searing tribulations of the oven’s inferno. It’s faint cripsness yielded in sublime compliance to the gentlest of dental pleadings. It was like freshly fallen snow, encased in a creme brulee of ice, that breaks joyously at the lightest of no-school-today-bootprints. The pesto, an irredescent infusion of basil, olive oil, garlic, and parmesean cheese, was pureed to perfection, played its supporting role with solid comraderie, and firmly held the paper-thin hot-house tomatoes to savory task. The sausage came from Costo.
