I’ve always been told that color looks amazing against my skin tone. It’s not that I don’t believe them or appreciate the compliment, but I’ve never observed this statement to be true. However, if I think about this in the reverse – it’s a whole different story. It’s not the fact that bright colors look good on me, but in comparison to bright colors on pale skin, they do look better on dark skin.
I figured I’d better capitalize on my tan from India so I wore my canary yellow blouse out on a dinner date. As I stood waiting to be seated, a middle-age gentleman also waiting to be seated complimented me and said I’d win the best dress contest in the restaurant.
You have to love spontaneous moments like these!
I headed to Barnes & Noble after dinner. Although I love my Kindle, I still enjoy perusing a bookstore the old-fashion way.
Blouse – Old Navy
Shorts – H&M
Shoes – Rugged Warehouse
Necklace – I don’t normally layer (mostly because I never think to) but I thought the simple color blocking look needed to be kicked up another notch with some accessories. The locket was a present from my grandmother, the ruby angel an old forgotten purchase, and the long mint and white chain from Charlotte Russe.
