This week has not been a cooking-friendly environment. I’ve been running around too much, which means food on the go! I tried a new Vietnamese restaurant in Atlanta for a mid-week Asian craving – Nam Phuong. I ordered my must-have Vietnamese dinner – steamed shrimp spring rolls and the traditional beef pho. As a pho connoisseur, I will confidently name Nam Phuong as the best Pho in Atlanta! Good pho is all about the broth and meat. The broth takes hours to prepare because only time can mingle and mix the flavors of the spices in such good harmony. The meat is thinly sliced and dropped in the broth just seconds before the waitress brings the soup to the table. The heat of the broth cooks the slices of meat instantaneously. While the spring rolls were good (not the best I’ve had in Atlanta) the pho stole the show. I’d highly recommend others to stop by this hole in the wall restaurant off Buford Highway. You’ll be greeted by foreign delicious scents and pleasantly surprised by its tastiness!
