always make omelets (or in reality scrambled eggs with stuff in it) for my fancy Saturday morning breakfast. Habits are hard to break, but I did it.  I changed out the omelet for French Toast!

French Toast Recipe

  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 8 thick slices of 2-day-old bread, better if slightly stale
  • Butter
  • Maple syrup

Blend everything together in a shallow bowl and dip the bread into the liquid mixture and brown in the skillet.  Can I get “that was easy?”

I also made ham and cheese bites (recipe inspiration from Pinterest)

Kate Styled Pretty, Brunch, Ham and Egg bites

Ham & Egg Cheese Bites

  • 1/2 egg per cup
  • a little heavy cream (or milk)
  • grated cheese
  • onions and peppers, diced small
  • a small pat of butter
  • a couple of young green onions
  • ham slices, a little thick
  • salt and pepper to taste

Sautee the onions, peppers, butter and onions together.  Place ham slices into individual muffin cups, drop a little bit of the cooked onion and peppers mixture on the ham, then pour mixed eggs into each muffin cup until full.  I topped each one with some cheese and finished with fresh herbs on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes or until done.

Homemade brunch has never tasted better!

Now on a completely different note – what do you think of a blog name change for me? From Kate Styled Pretty to Kate Style Petite?  Thoughts?  I’m still evolving as a blogger (since I’m admittedly fairly new to the scene) and I’ll soon be moving to a self-hosted platform by end of the year, which would be the perfect time for a name change (if it happens at all).  I’d love to hear my readers thoughts on the two different names! Please leave a comment below and let me know which one you prefer!

  1. Re the name change, if your focus is going to be petite style then I’d certainly look at the new name, as it makes you come up more for SEO I’d guess – although I’m no expert! I started a blog called Petite and Pregnant a while ago when I was struggling to find cool clothes when preggy for the same reason. Of course it does mean that your content would want to be mainly style, and other topics may jar with the name? Perhaps there’s a happy medium?

  2. That looks scrumptious! Thank you for sharing it on What I’m Loving Fridays! Hope you’re having a good week and see you tomorrow!
